A new offering of The Patchwork Principle
Dear reader,
I’m excited to invite you to Gather & Patch, a monthly creative gathering space on Zoom. This is an inclusive space where artists and makers of all disciplines come together biweekly to share, reflect, and explore creativity through a ritualistic and therapeutic lens.
This is an offering to paid members of The Patchwork Principle, but I would like this to be inclusive for anyone, regardless of their ability to pay. If you need your paid membership comped, just send me a DM. No questions asked.
What to expect:
Casual, biweekly gatherings on Zoom to explore our creative processes as deeply personal rituals—offering grounding in a world that often promotes detached replication.
Opportunities to share your work and provide context, if you wish. This space can also serve as a place for constructive ‘critiques’—offering friendly feedback to help navigate creative blocks and spark new ideas.
Workshops on therapeutic art techniques, facilitated by myself, you, or anyone who has something to offer.
Discussions on fairy tales, personal mythology, storytelling—exploring how we can reframe current events in empowering and meaningful ways.
Discussions on our favorite artists and works of art that enhanced our understandings of ourselves and the broader world.
This space can evolve into whatever the group finds most useful—whether it’s a place for shared inspiration, collaborative projects, creative challenges, or simply a supportive community to reflect and connect. This
This is not therapy. I am not a clinician, and I do not provide professional advice. I am seeking to create a space that facilitates a conversation around untangling creativity from capitalistic forces. I hope that together we can encourage a liberatory approach to art making.
I have been a recipient of art therapy for the past year, which has given me valuable tools to approach life itself as a creative opportunity. It has empowered me to craft new narratives around past experiences and enabled me to use my creative practice as a means of self-exploration. I intend to create a space to share this with others.
When will this take place?
The first Gather & Patch will take place on Thursday, January 30th at 6pm CST. The zoom link will be shared with subscribers the day before.
